At seven, I sat in a quiet cinema at Shaw Lido and realised stories could move people in ways words alone couldn't. I didn't know how films were made, but I knew I wanted to make them.
Since directing my first screen adaptation in 2005, I've spent two decades exploring storytelling — not just technique, but emotion. Watching Wings of Desire changed everything for me: stories matter only when people matter.
Today, I mentor learners to speak and create with feeling first, not fear. Because when audiences connect, confidence follows — and that's where real storytelling begins.

Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen.

I've been in the media industry since 2000, and teaching and mentoring young filmmakers since 2006.

If your class had one "unwritten rule", what would it be?
Let's try, fail, and try again. Live that experience.
