Photography started as curiosity, but quickly became something much deeper for me. What began with casually holding a compact camera slowly turned into an obsession with documenting moments, emotions, and stories that people often overlook.
As a student volunteer photographer for "The Million Smiles Project," I realised how powerful a single image could be — not just visually, but emotionally. That experience shaped the way I see photography today. It's never just about taking a nice picture; it's about preserving a feeling, a memory, or a moment in time.
Over the years, I've worked across events, documentaries, photojournalism, portraits, and commercial projects, constantly learning how to adapt while staying true to my storytelling approach. I enjoy connecting with people, understanding their stories, and translating those experiences into visuals that feel authentic and human.
Even after years in this field, I still get excited whenever I pick up a camera. Every project feels like an opportunity to see the world differently and create something meaningful.

Make visible what, without you, might perhaps never have been seen.

A genuine conversation with someone or capturing a candid moment that feels naturally perfect without needing to force it.
What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?
I enjoy exploring different places around Singapore, discovering good food and coffee spots, watching films, and observing everyday life — because inspiration often comes from ordinary moments.

Calm, observant, approachable, and someone who notices details that most people miss.
What's one small teaching habit you have that others might not notice?

How many years have you been in your field, teaching, training, or mentoring?
I've been involved in photography and visual storytelling since 2009, giving me close to two decades of experience in the creative industry. I've also spent years guiding and sharing knowledge with aspiring photography enthusiasts, creatives and collaborators through hands-on experiences and mentoring.
What do you enjoy most about teaching?
I enjoy seeing people gain confidence in their creative abilities and realise that photography is not only about equipment, but about perspective, storytelling, and emotional connection.
If your class had one "unwritten rule", what would it be?
Don't be afraid to make mistakes — sometimes the imperfect shots become the most meaningful ones.
