A short story

about me

I didn't just learn how to DJ — I learnt how to become the energy behind it. "I am the party" isn't a tagline, it's how I show up every time I step behind the decks. 🎧

Over the past 16 years, from high-energy club sets to international shows, I've learned that great DJing isn't just about music — it's about reading people, creating moments, and knowing when to let the beat speak.

As a trainer, I don't believe in one way to learn. I listen first, then guide each student to find their own rhythm and confidence. Because when you feel the music, you don't just play it — you own it.

Q

In one sentence, what do you do?

I don't just play music — I become the energy of the room. I am the party.

Q

What's something small that always makes your day better?

Reading kind messages from my fans — it's a quiet reminder that music really does connect people in ways words can't.

Q

What do you enjoy doing when you're not working?

When I'm off the decks, I slow things down in the kitchen. Cooking gives me the same creative freedom, just with flavours instead of beats.

Q

One random thing you love that has nothing to do with your job.

Food. Always food. I'd travel just to chase a great meal, because great experiences — like great music — are worth going the distance for.

Q

If a friend had to describe your "vibe", what would they say?

Fresh, evolving, and always pushing something new. I don't like staying in one sound — I like creating moments people didn't expect.

Q

What's one small teaching habit you have that others might not notice?

I listen more than I speak. Every student learns differently, so understanding them first is how I help them grow faster.

Q

Share 2–4 past projects, works, or experiences you feel best represent your journey.

One of my most memorable moments was performing as a regional act for Hennessy Artistry — two massive shows back-to-back in one night. It was intense, exhausting, and everything was happening at once. But stepping off stage, knowing you've moved a crowd like that… there's nothing quite like it.

Q

How many years have you been in your field, teaching, training, or mentoring?

I've been in the industry for over 16 years, with 12 years spent teaching and mentoring aspiring DJs.

Q

What do you enjoy most about teaching?

I love figuring out how each student learns best. There's no one method, just the right method for that person. Seeing them finally "get it" in their own way is the most rewarding part.

Q

If your class had one "unwritten rule", what would it be?

Be patient with yourself. Growth takes time, but once it clicks, it stays.
